Location: North cost of Peninsula de Yucatán.
Species: Green, Hawksbill, Loggerhead, Leatherback.
Conservation works during the nesting season search of nesting female turtles (tagging and recaptures) turtle nests relocating eggs to more favorable locations on the beach, and releasing recent hatchlings, collecting scientific data, and hatchlings to the sea. Research in nest success; telemetry, genetic, behavior, distribution, abundance and tendencies of nesting females; sex ratios and foraging grounds of juvenile, climatic change, coastal ecologic arrangement, among others.

Species: Loggerhead, Green, Hawksbill, Leatherback.
Program of Conservation of Sea Turtles in the Mayan Riviera was created with the aim to protect, to survey, to investigate and to conserve the populations of the marine turtles that get to lay eggs to main beaches of nesting of the Central Coast of Quintana Roo. The Program includes 13 beaches of nesting that add 34 km. of beach in a total extension of 120 km. of the coast, from Punta Venado in the south of Xcaret, to the Reserve of the Biosphere of Sian Ka’ an. The main beaches are: Aventuras-DIF, Chemuyil, X’cacel, Xelha, Tankah, Kanzul, Cahpechen y Lirios Balandrín.
Between the main projects that are developed they are: the Program of qualification; Program of living mark; Program of Initiation “head-starting”, in which to the date, they have been freed more than 1.900 immature turtles and the Program of Rehabilitation, in which from 2003 to the date, one has provided with medical services and special treatments to more than 160 turtles.

3. Centro Ecologico Akumal (CEA)
Location: Akumal, Quintana Roo
Species: Loggerhead, Green.
During the nesting season, CEA turtle biologists, interns, and volunteers, the Turtle Team, walk the beaches of Akumal in search of nesting female turtles, turtle nests, and recent hatchlings. Their duties include protecting and tagging females, collecting scientific data, relocating eggs to more favorable locations on the beach, and releasing hatchlings to the sea. The data that the Turtle Team collects are then used to determine turtle hatching success, behavior, distribution, and abundance.

4. Área de Protección de Flora y Fauna “Laguna de Términos” CONANP
Location: Coast of Campeche
Species: Hawksbill, Green, Kemp’s Ridley.
It coordinates through a committee, the technical and scientific activities in the state of Campeche. (Eleven beaches with 170 km.) A data base has been generated certified. The works in coordination with Pronatura, in diverse projects for the recovery of the hawksbill sea turtle like threats, fisheries, coastal erosion, and study of juvenile in feeding areas.
